FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Another term of three years for the members of Managing Committee has commenced. As a new Chairman, it is my pleasure to express gratitude to every one of you for allowing to occupy the Office which I have taken over from my illustrious predecessors.

We, the members of Managing Committee, are all geared up. Goals have been set and have prepared plans to achieve those. I am singularly lucky to have colleagues in the Managing Committee who are equally committed and concerned about achieving those goals.

Let me communicate the goals of the Branch :

„« More stress will be laid on Professional Development, especially in the field of Indirect Taxes where there is a tremendous scope for practice.

„« New areas of practice will be identified and members will be equipped through training by way of CPE Programmes and training in the field of Information Technology.

„« Awareness will be created amongst members for ¡¥Auditing and Assurance Standards¡¦ and Accounting Standards to be followed.

„« Our President CA. Sunil Talati has already given ¡¥Mission 2007¡¦. We shall make all endeavour to convert his dreams into reality.

„« The momentum that has been picked up by the Branch during past years will be continued.

In short, the Branch will work like THE BEST BRANCH.

We are also committed to add value addition to the students¡¦ education programs. At the end of the day, it is our students who will carry our profession further and therefore, very specific plans are being prepared by the Chairman, WICASA, for their overall development.

In conclusion, I would like to emphasize the words of Will Rogers ¡V ¡§Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there¡¨. We at the Branch need all your good wishes, and positive contributions for achievement of our targets.
